Epoxy adhesives excel in bonding similar and dissimilar, porous and non-porous materials together, including metal, glass, wood, ceramics, tile and concrete. They consist of two components that create a chemical reaction when mixed, causing them to cure into a solid that will form a strong bond between materials. Strong resistance to temperature changes, moisture and chemicals gives it a wide range of applications. Due to the adhesive strength of epoxy, it is often used for repairs that need to withstand a lot of force or stress. Cure times vary but are usually between 24 and 48 hours, with some quick-cure varieties curing much faster. A wide range of epoxy adhesives are available for various applications; for example, G1 is formulated for oily or exotic woods, Cold Cure will cure at temperatures down to 35°F (2°C), Quick Cure sets in 4 to 7 minutes, and Blade Pro is specially formulated for use in knife making.
