Bloodwood (Brosimum rubescens) – Named for its deep reddish-brown color, it is a dense, straight-grained and fine-textured wood with good natural luster. It tends to splinter easily and dull tools quickly, so it can be challenging to turn. Nominal measurements are 3/4" square by 5 1/2" long.
