Description

Made in Italy by Corradi, a fifth-generation family firm established in 1910, these machine-cut half-round rasps are precisely manufactured to strict standards of quality. The teeth are evenly spaced, raised to a consistent height, and arranged in a wave-like pattern that shears wood quickly and won't readily clog. The dense pattern and tapered tips combine to permit precise work, letting you use a short stroke to concentrate the cut over a small area when needed.

Unlike most hand-stitched rasps, they have no cutting bias, so they can be used right- or left-handed. Effective on hard and soft woods, as well as other natural materials such as bone and horn, they are machined on CNC equipment from high-quality tool steel and heat-treated to Rc65-66, making the teeth highly resistant to dulling through long use.

We offer three half-round cabinetmaker's rasps with fine 72 teeth/cm² patterns. The 6" rasp is for detail work, the 8" rasp has a narrower profile for working within tight recesses, and the 10" version is a good choice for use on broad, less contoured surfaces. We also offer a 10" extra-fine rasp suitable for broad, flat or gently contoured surfaces. With 100 teeth/cm², it cuts less rapidly and leaves an even smoother finish.
