Robert Sorby Slicks

Quantity:

Commonly used in both log building and timber framing, these hefty slicks provide the mass necessary for smooth, controlled cuts on large-scale joinery work and are well balanced for their size.

Forged as one piece, the high-carbon steel blades have a hollow-ground bevel to facilitate honing, with the top face rounded for comfortable use.

The arrises along the lands have been lightly eased for safer handling. The blades are fixed in the ash handles with a large tang that has a steel ferrule to reinforce the joint.

Contoured for a comfortable grip, each handle has a knob at the tip for a snug fit against a shoulder or in the crook of an arm. An upsweep from blade to handle allows additional clearance for working in deep mortises or for long paring cuts.

Available with a 2 3/8" or a 3 3/8" wide blade. Both are around 28" in total length with a blade length of about 9 1/2".

Minor honing required before use.

Leather edge guards available separately.
