Projects from the Minimalist Woodworker

by Vic Tesolin

Quantity:

In this complement to The Minimalist Woodworker (2015), the author applies the woodworking methods covered in his earlier book to seven skill-building projects, introducing new techniques along the way. He provides step-by-step instructions supplemented with color photos and expert tips for makers of any skill level, including those having a limited workspace or tool set.

Tesolin begins by showing how to make two useful shop tools: a violin knife and a wooden smoothing plane. Other projects include a box constructed using traditional dovetail joinery, a perch stool, an album crate sized for holding vinyl LP records, and a six-board chest made using pinned lap joints. The final project, a hanging wall cabinet, includes techniques for installing hinges and working with veneer.

An engaging, practical guide for those just starting out, as well as for more experienced woodworkers looking to brush up on their fundamental skills.

Softcover, 8" × 10", 159 pages, 2021.
