Triggered by a motion sensor so it’s hands-free in use, this battery-operated LED fixture offers a practical way to add lighting just about anywhere, indoors or out.
It instantly turns on when anyone comes within 10', so you never have to fumble for a light switch or try to swipe it with an elbow when your hands are full. The sensor detects both heat and motion, avoiding false triggers by windblown objects, and automatically turns the light off when no movement is detected for 20 seconds. The sealed plastic housing can withstand long-term exposure to the elements, and since the light runs on four AA batteries, you can install it in locations without electricity. (Batteries not included; lithium batteries recommended for use in freezing temperatures.)
The LED array uses energy-efficient chip-on-board (COB) circuitry to produce a bright wide-angle beam that consumes little power. It runs for about 20 months on typical alkaline batteries at a rate of six activations per day on the high setting (100 lumens). It also has a 50-lumen low setting to preserve battery life if installed in a busy area, as well as a light sensor to prevent daylight activation.
The 5 1/2" × 2 5/8" fixture docks on a wall bracket that mounts with screws or high-strength peel-and-stick adhesive strips (both included) but is easy to remove for battery changes. Projecting less than 1 1/2", it’s an unobtrusive lighting option in confined spaces where typical fixtures would get in the way.
