Tansu (the Japanese word for “trunk”) refers to a variety of trunks, chests, boxes and storage cabinetry popular in Japan from about 1650 to 1920. Combining the skills of the cabinetmaker, blacksmith and lacquer artist, Tansu can run the gamut from simple unadorned cabinetry to ornate chests using 100 or more pieces of hardware.
Suitable for smaller projects, these L-braces are made from lighter (0.5mm thick) steel and painted black. Dimensions given are leaf lengths; each is 8mm wide.
The small T-braces are mounted using #1 screws; the large are mounted using escutcheon pins. Fasteners are not included.
