SOSS Invisible Hinges

These versatile concealed hinges offer exceptional strength, security and smooth operation.

Regular hinges support weight on a single knuckle located outside the jamb, but these hinges place the weight on multiple moving pivot points within the hinge body so they can bear heavy loads. They seat flush in a deep mortise to resist sagging, remaining inconspicuous and tamper-resistant when closed. Their interlinked laminated steel plates move smoothly and silently, opening 180°.

Available in a range of sizes from 1" to 4 5/8" high for minimum material thicknesses ranging from 1/2" to 1 3/8". We also offer a heavy-duty version of the 4 5/8" hinge that requires a greater minimum material thickness of 1 3/4". Easily installed with a drill in wooden doors and frames, the hinges come with instructions, screws and a drilling template.

You can use a drill to cut mortises for SOSS hinges; however, using a plunge router with spiral upcut bits gives better results since they cut cleanly and clear material efficiently. You can easily make a router-mortising jig using the included drilling template.

Cast in heavy-duty zamak and available in attractive satin brass, satin chrome and black finishes, these hinges are designed to last a lifetime.
