Festool Dust Extractors
Festool dust extractors are an integral part of the Festool system and are portable, convenient and efficient. Here are the basic concepts for working with them, along with suggestions for some helpful accessories.

Basic Settings
Festool dust extractors share some standard features among different models. Before using the machine, you need to select the proper settings.
- Power Mode – Off/Manual/Automatic
- Variable Suction – controlled by the speed control dial or push buttons
- AutoClean (if applicable) – Non-AutoClean/Manual/AutoClean

In the automatic mode, the vacuum will automatically turn on to full strength when the connected tool is switched on.
For using the dust extractor as a vacuum or with a power tool that generates a lot of debris, such as a router, Domino joiner or track saw, set the speed to maximum.
For use with a sander, especially with a fine grit, you can lower the speed to achieve the desired sanding results.
Some models use push buttons for the speed control, and others use a dial, but the principles are the same.
The AutoClean function, for collection of ultra-fine dust, is intended to be used with the CT AC high-performance filter rather than a HEPA filter bag. To aid in emptying the collection canister, a dust liner is used. Consult the user manual for Manual AutoClean and Automatic AutoClean details.
For wet extraction, remember to replace the HEPA filter with a wet filter.
The boom arm set keeps the cord and hose up and out of your way, offering convenience and efficiency in the operation of power tools. The fixture also prevents a user from tripping over cord or hose, enhancing shop safety.

Filter Replacement and Dust Separation
Depending on the amount of use, filters should be replaced every 6 months to maintain the rated performance. As an option to reduce filter replacements, a dust separator can be used to capture dust and debris from the source before it reaches your vacuum filter, helping to prevent clogged filters and suction loss.
