Ideal for smaller workshops or for job-site use, this space-efficient, portable table saw offers the same unique safety-braking system as SawStop’s larger models, which can reduce a potentially severe injury to just a minor cut. Within 5 milliseconds of detecting contact between your skin and the saw blade, the braking system automatically stops the blade, retracts it under the saw's table, and shuts off power to the saw's motor. This all happens quicker than the eye can see and certainly faster than anyone's ability to respond. If the system is ever activated, the cartridge used to stop the blade and the blade itself are easy to replace, letting you resume normal operation in as little as 90 seconds.
The saw table is made of strong, lightweight aluminum with a durable powder-coat finish. It measures 22" × 23", with an aluminum fence that can extend beyond the table surface on a rigid rack-and-pinion outrigger mechanism that maintains it parallel to the blade, permitting a ripping capacity of 24 1/2". The saw comes with a riving knife that substantially reduces the chance of kickback, as well as a miter gauge, blade guard and push stick.
The left-tilting blade can be set to bevel angles from -1° to 46° in 1° increments; further adjustments can be made with the fine-tuning feature. Blade elevation (to a maximum cut depth of 3 1/8") is controlled with a handwheel mechanism that covers the full range of adjustment in a single turn. The included blade guard has separately hinged side panels to minimize exposure of the blade yet allow good blade visibility. An under-table shroud harnesses the momentum of the spinning blade to direct dust to the integrated 2 1/2" collection port. The 120 VAC 60 Hz universal motor connects to standard 110V AC power, operating at 4000 rpm. Not compatible with dado blade sets.
The saw comes with a 10", 24-tooth blade (SawStop model #BTS-R-24ATB) made of high-quality heat-treated steel. The carbide-tipped teeth have a 10° ATB (alternating top bevel) and a 15° rake angle, suitable for general use on softwoods and hardwoods.
Weighing only 68 lb, the saw is easy to transport and has a convenient fold-out storage compartment in the base to permit onboard storage of all included accessories, keeping everything in one place.
An optional folding stand is available separately.
