No. 444 am Adjustable Dovetail Marker

Quantity:

A clever reinvention of a traditional dovetail marker, this innovative template is the only one we've seen that lets you set the angle of your dovetail cuts. Rather than being limited to one of the conventional ratios, its movable steel side wings let you accurately lay out any angle from 0° to 15°, whether to suit the density of the wood being used or simply for aesthetic reasons. It can also be used to precisely match the angle of an existing dovetail for restoration or repair.

As you adjust the angle of the 1 3/4" side wings, a brass pointer indicates the setting against a laser-etched scale marked in degree increments on one side and angle ratios (from 1:10 to 1:4) on the other. The adjustment mechanism ensures that the wings move in unison, so the two angles always reflect each other accurately. A knurled steel thumbscrew then locks the setting.

It has a body made of hard-anodized aluminum with steel side wings. Perpendicular to the adjustable angled section, the 2" × 2 1/2" straight section has accurate 90° corners, allowing you to mark the straight cuts across the end of the board at the same time as marking the face.
