Description
Burk has compiled detailed painting instructions for the realistic finishing of duck decoys. Photographs of a live bird from different angles show typical coloration of each species. Paint patterns illustrate the color and shape of each feather or group of feathers. Line drawings showing various head positions give the carver several choices in portraying the duck’s activity.
Series two includes patterns for the canvasback, redhead, lesser and greater scaup, harlequin duck, American goldeneye, Barrow’s goldeneye, bufflehead, ring-necked duck, ruddy duck, oldsquaw and hooded merganser.
