Radius Root-Cutter Trenching Spade

This item is not available for this region.

Ruggedly constructed with a narrow blade for maneuverability in tight spots, this is an excellent tool for precise digging in tough, root-filled soil.

Its blade forms two bevel-edged tips that penetrate easily, and the bevelled saw teeth along each side make quick work of cutting through fibrous roots.

Its resin-encased carbon-steel shaft is set at a forward tilt to let you apply leverage more effectively. With a soft coating for a comfortable grip, its large circular handle accommodates a range of hand positions, so you can choose the best grip angle to bear down effectively without strain.

The 11" long, 5" wide carbon-steel blade has a durable enamel coating to resist rust, and the 1" wide folded steps have a prominent tread pattern, providing a reliable place to register the foot against.

At 42" overall and weighing just under 5 lb, this is a well-made tool built to handle plenty of hard use but also quite capable of careful work.
