Leigh Industries
Lee Valley’s relationship with Leigh Industries goes back to the early days of both companies, when we were among the first retailers to carry Leigh’s innovative, practical and precise dovetail jigs in the early 1980s.

Having recently emigrated from England to Canada, furnituremaker Ken Grisley wanted to simplify the time-consuming process of cutting dovetails by hand, which led him to develop a jig for cutting through-dovetails on a router – the first of its kind that allowed the user to adjust the dovetail spacing. Operating out of a small garage workshop, Ken and his wife Joan founded Leigh Industries in 1981 to manufacture and market the new jig, which quickly gained popularity among woodworkers. Following their initial success, Leigh Industries continued to grow, building a line of first-rate router joinery jigs for dovetails, box joints, and mortise and tenon joints, along with a range of accessories. For over 40 years, Leigh has created the gold standard of user-friendly joinery jigs, all backed by a 5-year warranty and capable of producing consistent, professional-quality joinery in minimal time.
