Crucible Planing StopMade in U.S.A.

Quantity:

Based on a workbench staple seen in Roubo’s L’Art du Menuisier, this planing stop is an effective way to steady boards for more efficient surfacing. As it does not grip stock as a vise would, the planing stop allows you to quickly flip or rotate your materials when required.

It needs to be embedded in a 3" × 3" × 12" block of wood, then friction-fit into a mortise in your benchtop. Adjustable for use with even very thin stock, it can be raised and lowered with just a few hammer taps, and can even be lowered to the surface of the benchtop and out of the way when not in use.

The teeth come ground to a lower degree of sharpness but can be sharpened if you prefer more bite. Made from crack-resistant ductile iron, this is one of the most practical accessories to have on your workbench, and it should last a lifetime.

Made in USA.
