This two-piece rail and stile set has been designed for use with material as thin as 5/8" (as opposed to the usual 7/8" or 1"). It cuts a panel slot 3/16" wide by 3/8" deep. Complete with pilot bearings, for curved work.
Our professional/industrial grade bits have tungsten carbide inserts ground on CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machines using 600x diamond wheels. Tungsten carbide maintains its hardness at high temperatures and holds an edge far longer than high-carbon or high-speed steels. The bit bodies have a non-stick coating for easy resin removal.
The small ogee rail and stile bits have a body diameter of 1 3/8", a depth of 7/8" and a 1/2" shank.
For better safety, these bits should be used only in a router table equipped with a fence and not used free hand.
Each bit includes an advanced polymer friction-fit holder that can be mounted horizontally or upright.
They use a 5/8" × 1/4" replacement bearing (available separately).
