Made from 1 1/2" wide, 1/4" thick hard maple laths, lacquered and fitted with brass end caps for durability, they are offered in 24", 36" and 48" lengths, as well as 60" and 72" lengths, two sizes that are hard to find as rigid rules. The graduations, in 8ths on one side and 16ths on the other, are accurate to 7 thou, sufficient for any job where the width of a pencil mark won't make a critical difference.
The incised, black-filled markings are clear and easy to read. One benefit of the well-defined notches is that you can register a pencil tip in them if the rule is stood on edge, making it easier to mark dimensions accurately. Sold individually, they are also offered as a set of the three smallest and as a set of all five.
