Supplied with three interchangeable tips, this lightweight, versatile soldering tool covers tasks ranging from general soldering to delicate circuitry work. Unlike a conventional butane-burning soldering gun, the 30W iron runs on a USB-rechargeable lithium-ion battery.
It heats to 600°C (over 1000°F) in about 8 to 12 seconds, providing up to 40 minutes of soldering per charge.
For component soldering and wire connections, the 1/8" wide chisel tip lets you work quickly while maintaining excellent control. It can also be used with a wet rag to spot-steam minor dents and scratches in wood, causing the wood fibers to swell. For finer work, the conical tip lets you apply heat with pinpoint precision. The radiant heat tip emits a focused application of heat directed out from the tip, useful for tasks such as applying shrink tubing.
Weighing less than 3 1/2 oz, the 6 1/2" handpiece is easy to maneuver and has a built-in LED to help you see what you’re doing. In addition to the handpiece and three tips, the set includes a plastic storage case, a USB charging cable, a cleaning sponge, a fold-out stand to keep the handpiece off your work surface if you set it down, and a 10g coil of lead-free solder (additional solder sold separately).
