Veritas Mk.II Power Sharpening System
The Veritas Mk.II power sharpening system lets you sharpen your hand tools quickly and repeatably. Keen edges can be achieved in a matter of minutes, and the system is so easy to use that excellent results are possible by someone who has little sharpening experience.

Set-Up
There are three basic elements to setting up the sharpening system before you begin sharpening. Familiarize yourself with these before using the machine.
- Install the platter with the appropriate abrasive on the turntable (see summary table for details).
- Set the tool guide to the desired bevel angle (Photo 1).
- Mount the tool to be sharpened to the tool holder using the blade-setting jig to set the blade projection (Photos 2 & 3).

3mm | 40µ (320x) | Lapping the back (non-bevelled face); removing the burr on the back |
3mm | 9µ (1200x) | Final lapping of the back; creating the micro-bevel |
3mm | Chromium oxide compound & thin cotton fabric | Buffing or honing the micro-bevel (this optional step must be done on the left side of the turntable) |
